Chinese Airlines Order 95 Airbus Jets with List Price of $17.8B to Expand Fleets
July 17, 2026 - Three Chinese airlines have agreed to purchase 95 Airbus aircraft with a combined list price of approximately $17.8 billion. Air China, Shenzhen Airlines, and Hainan Airlines will acquire a mix of A350-900 widebody and A320neo-family narrowbody aircraft to expand capacity and modernize their fleets. Saab Profit Beats Forecast as Defence Boom Spurs Surge in Orders
July 16, 2026 - Saab reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter earnings, with operating profit rising to SEK 2.79 billion ($289 million) as sales increased nearly 30% year over year. Pentagon Announces Multiyear Deals to Buy Thousands of Affordable Cruise Missiles
July 15, 2026 - The Pentagon has signed framework agreements with Anduril, CoAspire, and Zone 5 Technologies to develop and produce lower-cost air-to-ground missiles under the Air Force’s Family of Affordable Mass Missiles (FAMM) program. The initiative aims to increase missile production capacity, with the three companies expected to eventually produce up to 8,000 missiles annually. European Firms Plan Exo-Atmospheric Interceptor for 2027 Test
July 15, 2026 - Five European defense companies, including Destinus, MBDA, Safran, Airbus, and Thales, are forming the Bliksem EXO consortium to develop Europe’s first exo-atmospheric interceptor for ballistic missile defense. The program aims to conduct a space-based interceptor test in 2027 and provide a European capability to counter medium- and intermediate-range ballistic missile threats. Destinus will lead system integration, while the other companies will contribute technologies including propulsion, guidance, command-and-control, and radar systems. (Defense News)
Anduril Plans to Manufacture 7,000 Barracuda Cruise Missiles in 2027
July 13, 2026 - Anduril plans to manufacture 7,000 Barracuda-500 cruise missiles in 2027, with production beginning at its Ohio facility in late 2026. The company is already under a U.S. Department of Defense agreement to deliver at least 3,000 ground-launched Barracuda-500M missile systems over three years, with the first deliveries scheduled for 2027. The Barracuda-500M is a low-cost, ground-launched cruise missile with a range of more than 500 nautical miles that is designed for rapid, high-volume production. (Militarnyi)
